Today, I will be reviewing the Soph X highlighter palette and the Soph X eyeshadow palette. For those of you who don’t know, Sophdoesnails is a beauty lifestyle YouTuber who I have newly subscribed too. I love her videos and find her videos nice to watch. She recently brought out two palettes in collaboration with Revolution (a make-up brand that I already love). After reading a few reviews, I was so excited to go and buy these so that I could review them for you.
Soph X Revolution Highlighter Palette
Before I review the actual make-up, can I just say how cute the packaging is … rose gold writing and a baby pink / clear case (I’m in love). So this palette was £8.00 and contains 8 highlighter shades. It contains a mixture of baked and pressed highlighters which I really like about the palette. The best thing about this palette is that it is so pigmented which I love because there is nothing worse than a crap highlighter that doesn’t show up on top of your make-up. My favourite shades are the shade in the top right corner and in the bottom right corner. I also like to use the top left corner highlighter for my nose and my cupid bows. As you can see by the swatches on my arm, the highlighters are generally golden and pink toned which again, is what I love in a highlighter. I would highly recommend this highlighting palette for anyone who is starting out with make-up or is on a budget as this really is worth the money. I also own the Anastasia Glow Kit and I would say that this palette is virtually the same as the Glow kit just a lot cheaper. It is available in Superdrug stores and online if you are interested in purchasing the palette.
Soph X Revolution Ultra Eyeshadow Palette
Again, the packaging for this eyeshadow palette is just adorable and only cost me £10.00 … that is pretty good for 24 shades! Its baby pink with Rose Gold writing which is right up my street. The range of colours in the palette as so gorgeous and in my opinion you could use every single colour in the palette which is quite unusual as normally there are a few I would never touch. The palette also comes with a huge mirror which is an added bonus and already has become one of my favourite eye shadow palettes. The eyeshadow tones vary but mainly include brown/redish tones with a few transition colours as well as a white and black. The middle section then contains a few shimmery shades which I also love. I am a massive fan of a palette that contains both shimmery and matte colours. I probably won’t use the green and blue as often as the others but still they are gorgeous colours. Another nice touch to the palette is the really sweet names of the eyeshadows such as; Pancakes, Peaches, Cuppa Tea, Pug and Sparks Fly. My favourite colours so far are probably Danger, Pancakes and Grow Old. These colours are perfect for Autumn and can create a great make-up look. Every shade is pigmented and blends really nicely. There is a little bit of fall out but its not lots and totally easy to remove after finishing your eye make-up look. You can pick this palette up from Superdrug as well and would deffo recommend to people starting out with make-up or on a budget. This will not disappoint!
I would definitely recommend this products and would also definitely recommend checking out Sophdoesnail’s youtube channel. She is a lovely person and is really genuine giving her honest opinion about things. If you have bought one or both of these palette’s, I would love to know what you think or even to see some of the make-up looks you have created using the palette. Feel free to email us or tag us on instagram and we will be sure to get back to you. We hope you enjoyed this review and enjoy the rest of the week.
