As you may know by now, I love watching TV and films. I feel like over the past two months I have been really enjoying lots of different TV programs and I thought I would share them with you. If you have watched any of these/have been watching let me know it would be great to hear your opinions.
1. The Great British Bake Off
Who doesn’t love a bit of the Bake Off! I was a bit sceptical at first after hearing it had moved to Channel 4 but so far I am very impressed with the TV show. However, I do still miss Mary Berry plus Mel and Sue. Although, I really liked the new themed weeks including ‘caramel’ and ‘pasta’ week. My favourite contestant on the TV show was Liam … he was just amazing! His facial expressions and his overall joy was very refreshing in the tent. I cannot believe he is only 19 and knows so much about baking though! I do not want to spoil who won just incase you haven’t seen it but I think the winner was a fair result but did feel sorry for one of the bakers as I didn’t think they did as well as they could of. But yeh overall it was a great series and I very much enjoyed it! Looking forward to next year already.
2. Strictly Come Dancing
I just love the dances on this TV show and the costumes for that matter. Every costume and dance is unique and wonderful in its own way and I hope that one day (if I ever become famous) I will be able to go on the show. My favourite contestant this year was Aston but unfortunately (a repeat of the bake off when Liam went out) they sent one of the best people in the show home :(. So now I don’t really have anyone in particular to win as I had my heart set on Aston but we will see. I think Debbie McGee is great and at her age oh my word … her legs are insane! So yeh Strictly has been a good watch this last month.
3. Stranger Things Season 2
YES, YES, YES! This season did not disappoint. I know it has only recently come out so I will not spoil it for those of you who haven’t seen it but I loved season 2. I think I even preferred it to season 1. It was nice getting to know the background of the characters more and there were some new characters introduced which was a refreshing change. The season was full of so many emotions. I laughed, I cried, I was scared, I was relieved yeh just so many feelings. The season also explores the love triangle between Nancy, Steve and Jonathon more which I love. All the actors are brilliant and the children actors do not disappoint either! If you haven’t seen stranger things, I would totally recommend this. It will not disappoint I can tell you that. Also another thing, I love all the music and the fashion as it is set in the 1980’s 🙂
4. Riverdale Season 2
So obviously the last episode of season 1 left us on a cliff hanger. Since the last episode of season 1, quite a few things have happened which have shocked me. I won’t say what in case people are still watching season 2 but yeh … it’s a lot more dark than first season. It’s also a tad more cheesy than the first season which I don’t mind but because I’m watching season 2 with him, we find it maybe a little bit too cheesy haha! I love the cast though … why are they all so good looking!! We also have some new characters and Veronicas dad is brought into the picture which is good as gives us a different angle on things but I still don’t like him … something seems fishy!! Again it’s another man hunt to find the person in the black mask and I do love a little bit of mystery and crime solving so bring on the rest of the season.
5. Designated Survivor
My dad actually recommended this to me so at first I was sceptical but I am glad he did as I have really enjoyed the first season. For those who have never heard of this before, it’s a program on Netflix set in the present time and revolves around a terrorist attack that killed the US government. A bomb exploded in the capital building where the government meeting was being held killing the president and many other people who worked in the government. This is where the Designated survivor comes in, the underdog come in to rescue America from the terror that has struck them. The series evolves around the new president and his team solving the crime of the capital bombing. Now I’m not that into politics but I really enjoyed this and learnt a lot of things about the way America is governed and what happens in the White House. If you are interested in politics and murder mysteries then this is the program for you as it really is good and kept me on the edge of my seat. Bring on season 2!!
So those are just a few of the TV programs I have been loving recently. Please feel free to comment if you have any opinions on the programs I have mentioned or if you have any recommendations of your own. Also if you would like me to do any more program, film or Netflix posts let me know and I would love to write them for you 🙂
