Whats in my Bag.

As most of you know, both Jenny and myself are students. We go into university pretty much everyday for lectures, seminars and library study sessions. Since I’ve been traveling around a lot this last week, I thought I would share with you what I keep in my backpack for university study sessions and to keep on top of work while out an about. Enjoy my whats in my study bag.IMG_3966My usual backpack is now my Cath Kidston pastel toned backpack, which I talk about in my Liverpool haul post here, and its honestly the perfect bag. It has a wonderful padded zip pocket at the back for my laptop, that’s totally separate from the rest of the bag. the main compartment is the perfect size for everything else and to top it off there’s a small pocket for my purse and ID. I carry this bag with me pretty much everyday now, even when I’m not off to the library since it just works for basically everything.
The first thing I pack for university is my laptop. No matter what class I’m doing I tend to take it with me. That is unless its Egyptian language, I can’t draw hieroglyphs on it so I do tend to leave it behind for those classes. But my laptop is my general way of making quick notes in a lecture, and these days most things are online now anyway for studying. I have an Apple MacBook Air, 13.3″, which is super light and absolutely perfect for working out an about. Honestly the amount of times I’ve tipped it out on the train to get things done cause it’s just so light and easy to carry around. IMG_3975IMG_3974I also make sure to pack the important little things, like keys (can’t get home without those!), my purse and tissues. These are just a given. I find that I just cant comfortably leave the house without at least my keys or my purse. I find it really easy to remember my keys now that I’ve put an adorable Sven key chain on it that i got from Disneyland. I’m sorry but how adorable is that! He look so happy! Also in this little pile I have my ID card holder, which has inside my student ID and railcard. I carry this with me even when Im not going onto campus purely because of how many places offer student discounts now!
Next in my bag is my headphones! I literally go nowhere without these now and surviving for hours on end in the library requires these. There is literally nothing worse for me than sitting in silence in the library. I just can’t focus at all. Music helps me focus, so I just pop these on and I’m ready to go. They’re also great for walking to and from campus, especially since mine, which are Beats solo 3 for anyone who would like to know, have a microphone. So I can phone someone on the way home with my handful which is amazing.
IMG_3967Along with my headphones is diary. I could not get anywhere in life without my diary. Honestly my head sometimes is like a sponge and I forget more than I remember! This Moleskine 18 month diary is brilliant. It has the weekly spread on one page, so that I can fill in the daily entries there and lined paper on the other side so I write notes or my To Do lists there. I find it so helpful to have it open next to me while I work so that I can tick things off as I go.
My glasses also go in, but only really for study sessions int he library. I hate wearing my glasses. I find them super annoying and not that pretty. So they only go on when I have to work for long sessions, which is what I’m supposed to wear them for. The less the better. I don’t really need them to be honest, only for ‘long study sessions when eye strain is more likely’. Uh, maybe one day I’ll explain my dislike of glasses but for now I’ll leave it there. IMG_3972Last but not least is my actual studying material. My note books, pens, pencils and highlighters. I rarely highlight my own notes, but I get so many handouts i need to use them to separate of the important information from the ‘fluff’. The majority of my lecture notes are on my laptop, but to revise I copy them all down by hand into notebooks which is what I do the majority of my time in the library. This notebook is one of my many Egyptian Language Exercise books I have. Seriously I think I’ve got 6 of these now… The amount of work I do for that course…. Oh well.
Oh, I can’t forget to mention my phone. Which i literally take with me everywhere. Especially since I live in a very ‘studenty’ area which has never been considered safe. Seriously the amount of muggings and violence that goes on here makes me so nervous. So of course I take my phone with me everywhere.
So thaose are the things I typically take with ym to a library session. I always froget the important ‘me’ things though, like water and snacks, which I would takes with me on a long saturday at the library. Thank you so much for reading, please let me know what you think in the comments below xx

Love your Sven key ring, super cute! I also now carry my laptop everywhere I go due to taking notes in class! It definitely makes things easier when it comes to taking notes!

Love this post! Thought I was the only one who wrote their notes out after a lecture as I think they go into my head better but I’m glad I’m not.

Thank you! I genuinely cant keep up with the notes in lectures so I write in far more detail afterwards. I agree. They stay far better in my head that way. Plus that way I can make them look pretty xx
