So before I gave up youtube for lent (struggling so much already haha), I saw many reviews on the ‘Badgal Bang’ benefit mascara. From the videos I discovered that this product had been in the making for a long time. I love mascara, due to my eyelashes being pretty much non-existent … I had to go buy it as many people had raved about it. Apparently the formula has also been made with aero-particles and was derived from space technology (whatever the flip that means). I thought for today’s post I would share my opinions with you whether I think this product is really worth the hype.
Benefit chose the name ‘BADgal Bang’ which I think is a pretty catchy name. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the name and if anything, I quite like feeling like a boss and a bad girl every now and again 😀 I think the alliteration with the B’s is clever too … so Benefit BADgal Bang (the Three B’s mascara).
I think the packaging is actually pretty funky. I like the black, silver and pink theme. I think its mature but also fun at the same time which I can see appealing to many different aged women. I like how its simple as well so there is no pattern, its just plain matte black with pink and silver writing for the name.
Can we also just talk about how soft the actual bottle (don’t really know what to call it) is. I don’t really know how to explain it but its very soft and smooth and feels like good quality, which tbh I am expecting as I paid £21.50 for it. Also the lid is cool with little pyramids running down four sides of the lid which feels nice to grip when using the wand. Overall, I think the general appearance of the mascara container is flashy but sophisticated. It is probably my favourite mascara if we were going solely based on looks.
The wand is just a normal plastic wand with 360 degree wand bristles. The brush itself is quite bendy, as you can see in the video it bends when pushed up against the side of the bottle whilst most mascaras I have are stiff and will not move as easily as that. I quite like this though as it makes the application of the mascara easier to apply to my inner eyelashes and lower eyelashes.
The application of this mascara I found easy and smooth. The only problem I find (which happens not necessarily because of the mascara itself but because of how I apply it) is that the mascara on my eyelashes transfers to my skin so above my eye and below. That’s the only issue I would say with this mascara but I think that’s down to how I apply it. You do tend to find that the mascara clumps as well but for me that is good as I do not have thick eyelashes and I love the way it makes my eyelashes.
Now I don’t have long eyelashes of volumised ones so when a mascara makes my eyelashes long and volumised, it makes me very happy haha! So the picture below shows the before (on the right) and after (on the left) of one coat of the mascara (btw I am not wearing any makeup so you know free the skin 😀 ). As you can see I suddenly have some more eyelashes which is nice to know 🙂
After one coat, I think I have gone from no top lashes to an abundance of them! Now, if I were to add a second coat (as shown in the image below), it looks similar to first picture just a bit more black with more length.
Overall, I have to admit, this is probably one of the best mascaras I have ever used. Normally I would use three different mascaras to get my desired lash effect but using this mascara once gives me just the same effect that I would want. For £21.50, I would highly recommend this mascara to anyone who is tired of buying mascaras that don’t work or who use many mascaras in order to get desired lashes look. The BADgal Bang Mascara does claim to be 36 hours and I am sorry to admit that I do not how accurate that is because I never leave mascara on for that long, but I find the mascara is long wearing and I cannot complain. I will leave links to the mascara below if you want to purchase it. If you are interested in a smaller version, boots do a travel, smaller version which you could purchase beforehand to try.
Thanks for reading and if you have any questions or any thoughts about this mascara, I would love to hear them.
