Top 5 Animated Disney Films

Who loves Disney? If you did not say yes then WHY? Walt Disney was an absolute dude! He created this amazing franchise/brand which till this day is still popular with many people. Before I share with you my top 5 Disney films I thought I would tell you some facts about Disney.

‘Mortimer Mouse’ was the original name of Mickey Mouse before Walt Disney’s wife Lillian, convinced him to change it

Who knew that! To be honest I am glad he changed it as Mickey Mouse just rolls of the tongue better than Mortimer Mouse. It sounds kinda evil actually … Mortimer Mouse *mwah ha ha* –> That is my evil laugh haha!

The First Disneyland Admission Ticket Ever Sold was purchased for US$1 in 1955

Okay now this one blew my mind! When you think about how much they cost now … wow! I wish they were that price now haha πŸ™‚

Covering nearly 40 square miles, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is about the size of San Francisco or two Manhattan islands

I visited Disney World in Florida last summer and it was absolutely amazing however, I never realised how big it actually was until I read this! That is huge!

Until the year 2000, Disney theme park workers were forbidden from growing facial hair

This made me laugh! I would love to know if this is actually true or if someone just made it up but still haha oh lol! Sad times I guess if you wanted to grow some hair πŸ˜‰

When Disney released “Princess and the Frog” in 2009, 50 children in the U.S. were hospitalised with Salmonella from kissing frogs

Awww … the things children will do for love! Part of me thinks that it’s quite cute but actually now I come to think of it, it is a bit weird! I mean how do they even get hold of a frog for long enough so that they can kiss it? Mind-boggling stuff!
So those are just 5 interesting facts that I found about Disney but if you would like to see more facts about Disney then the website I used is linked down below!

Disney Facts ~ Some weird but wonderful facts

Now the actual post can begin. So what are my top 5 favourite films …

To start off the top 5 we have Mulan. I love this film! Admittedly I only saw it very recently on TV but I am very glad I did as this film is such an inspiring film for girls and women all around the world. It proves that women can be as tough, smart and brave as men. It made me feel empowered as a woman and made me realise that I can be a badass and save the world (well maybe not save the world more like make a difference haha). I love the fact that the whole reason Mulan went to fight was to save her father which is very admirable. This is a great film to watch and if you have children or when you have future children I would definitely show this film to them. Great film, would totally recommend! Reminds me a bit of Wonder woman. Although Mulan does not have powers she still saves the day!

So I am going to cheat a little here sorry about that but in fourth place we have Bambi, Dumbo and Lady and the Tramp. I know technically this doesn’t count but I am grouping them all together as they are all animal films and based on animals. Bambi is just … ahhh my heart melts. The bit that I love is actually the beginning of the film with the water drops falling down and each time they fall a different note is played. Although you go on an emotional rollercoaster during this film (do not want to spoil anything), it is a beautiful film and really highlights the importance of friendship and love. Thumper and Flower are great helpers and together with Bambi they make a perfect team. Dumbo again a bit of an emotional rollercoaster but still beautifully produced. It again proves that you can do amazing things if you put your mind to it and to not let the bullies get you down. It is a brilliant film and would definitely recommend watching this to anyone. Finally, Lady and the Tramp is a classic film about difference and love. It follows the love story between a dog named Lady who comes from a neighbourhood home and a stray named Tramp. It again is an emotional rollercoaster but ultimately highlights that love beats all. Please go watch this film if you like Disney. It will not disappoint.

So in third place we have Alice in Wonderland. This is a great film, a bit weird but a great film. The story is based on Alice dreaming about a whole other world whilst she’s asleep … well I think that is the main jist of the story. There are lots of different theories as to what the story shows or is about however from my understanding Alice just falls asleep and dreams about another place where everything is a bit weird. The reason I enjoy this film is because it is different from other Disney films and has some great characters including Tweedledee and Tweedledum a pair of twins, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts. For those of you who don’t like the typical love stories this is the film for you. It’s more of an adventure film as Alice goes exploring the weird and wonderful world in her brain haha! I would definitely recommend watching this just maybe if you get creeped out easily just prepare yourselves for weird!

So this was tricky to decide because when I was younger I was obsessed with Disney princess films. I know this is technically cheating AGAIN but oh well haha so at number 2 we have the three classic princess films; Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Just a quick side note, Snow White was the first film Disney produced and it came out in 1937 (wow I cannot believe how old it is). I love all these films. Although they have quite scary evil witches/queens, I always enjoyed the singing and the stories of true love defeating all evil. In Snow White, the dwarfs were my favourite as each one was really cute with an interesting trait. In Cinderella, the animals making her dress was my favourite scene as I always wanted to believe that animals could listen to me haha! Finally, in sleeping beauty my favourite scene is the one where the fairies are making the dress and cooking a cake for Aurora’s birthday and they keep changing the colour of the dress haha! Oh my days these films are just such classics and I remember having all the dresses when I was younger. For anyone who hasn’t seen these films, you need to! Every story does revolve around an evil lady wanting to punish the princesses for having such beauty but all is fixed when the handsome prince comes to save them (sorry if that’s a big spoiler).

Last but not least we have my favourite animated Disney film of all time (so far) … TANGLED! I flippen love this film. Who else shares this love with me? For those who don’t know what Tangled is or haven’t seen it yet then you need to. It is basically the story of Rapunzel and is such a good film about love and friendship and how looks aren’t everything. I love the story of it, I love the characters, I love the songs just everything is amazing! Of course ‘I see the light’ is a fabulous song but my favourite song is probably ‘I’ve got a dream’. The reason I love ‘I’ve got a dream’ so much is that although first appearances matter on some level, actually you can never know a person based on their looks. This song is about people who may seem scary or evil dreaming to be musicians or florists or find love. It really is a beautiful song reminding me that looks can be deceiving and whats on the outside is not always a reflection on the inside. Furthermore, who else agrees that Flynn Rider is kind of good looking for an animated character? He has that devilish bad boy look about him but is also really cute! Oh dear, I feel weird saying that haha please say that someone else agrees hahah πŸ˜€ So yeh! Tangled is my favourite Disney movie to date and I will definitely be showing my future children this beautiful movie. I would totally recommend this movie to anyone who loves Disney movies or just loves good movies haha!

Of course I know that there are lots of other fabulous Disney films. If I could pick them all I would. Some other Disney animated films that I really enjoy are Peter Pan, Robin Hood, Jungle Book, Brave, Pinocchio, 101 Dalmatians and The Little Mermaid. Just all Disney films are excellent and if you haven’t already you really need to start watching Disney animated films haha!
It would be great to hear what your favourite animated Disney movies are or if you agree/disagree with anything I have written please comment down with your opinions.

Enjoy the post and have a great week everyone.
