This month has honestly been mental. When I haven’t been stressed about work or uni-life, I’ve been on the train stressing about travel, or asleep. Even in sleep I’ve been stressed and having really bizarre and weird dreams. But now that the majority of things are sorted and I’m getting ready to visit family for Easter, I thought I would share my absolute favourites this month that have made this crazy time so much more manageable.
I have always loved to take photos, it’s my passion. Ever since I was a little kid, my dad would take photos of me and my family all the time and I guess it just rubbed off on me. I find heading out with my camera on a nice day to get a few shots super relaxing. My family trip to centre parks, which you can read about here, was the perfect get away. Lets just say it was desperately needed.
I can’t tell you how much I used to hate Primark. The clothes were always too cheap. They would get stretched or damaged after a couple of wear and washes, and I always just got really frustrated with them. I loved them at first, especially the prices but I always found myself so disappointed. That was until I went to Liverpool’s Primark (read about my haul from it here). And. Oh. My. Gods! I was in love. And I think I’m totally and utterly hooked. I don’t know if the quality of clothes is better, but I just. Just can’t tell you how much I love it at the moment.
The Ingham Family
A good couple of months ago, I was watching the SacconeJoly’s Christmas day special and I came across this amazing family. I found their Christmas vlog, which I originally thought was a rich family overly spoiling three children on Christmas day with a huge mound of presents. Boy was I soooo wrong. This family is the cutest, sweetest and most generous family I’ve ever seen. Yes, they treated their children at Christmas, but the kids are so grateful for every single thing they’ve got to the point where they spend ages every night writing notes to house keeping (despite the fact that she’s 5 years old!) while on holiday, spend hours of their evening out in the freezing cold snow to hand out warm clothes and food to the homeless, and send Christmas present packages to children who are less fortunate than them. Just to name a few ways these guys melted my heart. I can’t explain how much I love this family. They are funny, kind and their holiday vlogs give me life. If you want to watch a family who are genuinely happy and content in life, I can’t recomend these guys enough!
Cards and Solitaire
I know that cards have been around a lot longer than I have, and I am definitely not claiming that this a new idea, but this month I have been loving playing solitaire quietly on my own. I’ve always loved spending time on my own, I definitely don’t get lonely easily. But when its exam or deadline time I much prefer to spend an evening on my own when everyone else is an oozing stress ball. I bought these beautiful cards on a very wonderful trip with Jenny to Rome a few years ago and I’ve been playing with them every day recently. I don’t know what it is about solitaire, but I find it super relaxing.
The Greatest Showman soundtrack
As of February when I first watched The Greatest Showman, I’ve been obsessed with the soundtrack. Honestly. We’re getting onto almost 3 months now and I’m still not bored of the same 11 songs. I love them! I must admit I got a little bored for a little bit a couple of weeks ago when I fell back onto Imagine Dragons (Also some amazing albums!!), but I’m back to the Greatest Showman now! I find the songs super inspirational and soothing.
I love Harry Potter! Ever since I was 5 years old, when my dad read me the first book every night before bed, I have been obsessed with the entire series. As of the last couple of weeks of this month, I’ve returned to reading the series again as a stress coping mechanism and its amazing! I keep forgetting how much I love the series. If you haven’t read these books, then what are you doing? You NEED to read these books!
I hope you enjoyed my little list of my absolute favourites from this month. I know that some of these are neither new nor just from this month, but I have been loving them specifically this month.
