I’m not sure if you guys remember, but a good couple of months ago, when our blog was new, I reviewed a series of skin care called Botanics. Okay so it was a little more than a few months ago. But you can find the post here if your curious. I loved the natural, organic feel of all the products and they actually worked well with my skin. But after a while, they ran out and decided to try something new. And I’m going to be completely honest, I kind of forgot about the Botanics brand and how much I enjoyed it. That was until a couple of weeks ago when I went into Boots and saw these. I had run out of moisturizer, so I thought it would worth trying these since they are so cheap (literally around £6 which is super good for any moisturiser).
I can not get over how cute the packaging is for this brand! It’s all recycled and responsibly sourced materials used for all the packaging and its super cute. There are different sets and colours for different skin types too, but I went for Hibiscus since that’s for all skin types and my skin is pretty average. It’s not really dry or oily (well not anymore anyway). And I love the pink! It such a lovely colour.
They’re good sizes too. Each of the pot are probably just a little smaller than the circumference of a Coke can, which i think is pretty reasonable, plus they are full to the brim! There is no half filling or skimping with these, which I sometimes find with other branding (looking at you No7!). The actual pots inside the cardboard boxes are just as cute, although a little plainer, which I actually like. They are very simple and basic, and for the price I don’t think I would expect anything different.
Since I’ve really started to moisturize religiously (my skin feels so much happier!), I bought both the night and the day moisturizer to try. Both smell amazing! This was something I remembered about this brand from last time, that the entire range smells super good. I guess if you don’t like perfumed products then these aren’t really the products for you, but on the plus side it’s all organic. I don’t know why but the idea that its all organic makes me feel so much better about spending my money on it.
The overall consistency of the product is quite a liquid cream. I thought it would be a little thicker, but I actually found that it was more the consistency of custard or something rather than clotted cream. Yeah, I don’t know why I’m using food to explain something that goes on your face, but hopefully you get it. I did however find that it soaked into my skin super quickly. It was quite literally gone in maybe 2 minutes. Now I don’t know if that’s my skin being super thirsty or it being a good product, but my skin wasn’t let sticky or anything. It just left my skin super soft.
Now as I said, I’ve been using this product for several weeks now and my skin is thanking me so much for it. I genuinely think I’ll buy it again. Its such good value for its price and It works really well for my skin. My face is always super smooth afterwards and I don’t get oily through the day, despite the fact I other my face in this stuff. I would definitely recommend this product, especially to those like me who dont have lots of money to spend on the stuff.
Thank you as ever for reading my post, I hope you enjoyed it! Let me know what you thought and if there’s anything you really want us to review or try out.
